This is where it all started!
Bryce started out in hockey for the 2017 – 2018 season in the Mini-Mites program. He only learned to skate weeks before the season began. He was determined to do it. However he didn’t want to be a goalie originally. It wasn’t until a good friend of the family, Tim had Bryce come over to his house to skate on his rink and he put Bryce in net. He did awesome.
From that moment on, he was determined to be a goalie. At practice this year he is the one that is always smiling from the moment he hits the ice, sometimes we have to drag him off the ice when practice is over. Add in the goalie equipment and we have one happy kid on the ice.
Lets fast forward to the 2018 – 2019 season. He is with Team 3 The Black Ninjas and is loving it. We have a great Coaching staff lead by Mike, with Jake and Russ as Asst. Coaches. Every time the kid hits the ice, he is ready to learn, whether he is playing forward, defense or the position he wants to ultimately play goalie.
In his third season now, Bryce is playing for Team 8 The BlackHawks 2019 – 2020 season and doing Mites Travel Team for the White Team.
The 2020 – 2021 season Bryce was on the Travel B Team and also House Teal Team.
2021 – 2022 Season Bryce played on the House Team 4 The Tornados. Bryce also made the switch from Right Handed Goal Tender to Full Right Goal Tender.
For the 2022 – 2023 Season Bryce moved to Saratoga Blue knights where he was on the 12uC Travel team. His first year with Saratoga Blue Knights was a learning year as he met new people and learned new things and a faster style of play than what he experienced in 10u.
2023 – 2024 – In his second season with Saratoga Blue Knights on the 12uC Travel Team, all of the training has finally taken shape and this season Bryce is doing amazing in net. He is tracking the puck better, coming out of the net to challenge on breakaways and is even faster side to side. He has put in a lot of work during the off-season with different goalie clinics and camps to help improve his game.
Bryce also recorded his first shutout of the season with a 4-0 win over Adirondack 12uB team on October 28, 2023 and was awarded Player of the Game by the coaching staff.
